Partisanship Makes It To The Debates
If you've been visiting this website, then you understand how much our political system has degenerated into pure partisanship with little regard for the country's needs. The latest event defies imagination!
Apparently, Fox News wanted to sponsor a debate for the Democratic nominees in conjunction with the Congressional Black Caucus, but the liberal organization, Moveon.org, put pressure on the candidates not to participate. They claimed that Fox is too conservative and that would mean that the candidates would not get a fair deal. That of course, is not true. Fox did intend to have a balanced panel.
The question now is, what are these candidates afraid of, tough questions? If they can't handle the tough ones now, what are they going to do when they assume power and actually have to deal with tough issues facing the nation, and tough characters around the world like Putin of Russia and Aminejehad of Iran?
This whole rejection of a debate is absurd in the extreme. The first to announce his non-participation was John Edwards, followed very quickly by Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. You would think that the candidates would want to get out their message; but the truth is they don't want you to have any inkling of how they think or what they would do as President. Once again, we the people are left out to dry. Just trust us, they say, and don't ask any tough, hard questions. We don't want to answer them, we'll take care of you after the election.
This by the way, is that very same Barack Obama who said he wanted to go to Washington to set a new tone. It doesn't look like anything new to me. This is just more rank partisanship and once again proves that none of these individuals is qualified to lead this great nation. If you are intending to vote for any of them, Democrat or Republican, you will be contributing to more inaction, poor legislation, and lousy government overall because partisanship will rule the day, guaranteed! |
