"We The People", Who Is That?
Well, this past week, the rightful owners of this nation (that's 'we the people') rose up against the hired help (that's congress) and demanded that the immigration amnesty legislation in the senate be scrapped. Over 70% of Americans of all political persuasions opposed this bill. Nonetheless, the hired help, who have been running the country as if it was their own for so long got upset with the bosses. Senator George Voinovich (R-OH) complained on the Sean Hannity Show that his office was being flooded with phone calls from his constituents who were against the bill. His comment was, "You do not intimidate George Voinovich"! Poor George. Senator Trent Lott (R-MS) was also a little ticked off, commenting that, "Talk radio is running America. We have to deal with that problem"! Is there really anthing else that could be said about this? It is beyond obvious and well into the unbelievable! Imagine, how dare the American people speak up loud and clear to us, the elite, all wise, all knowing masters. How dare they assert their authority as the righful owners of this nation and inheritors of a precious birthright given to them by the founding fathers! Do they realize that the capital's telephone system crashed on the day of the vote? Are they aware of how many hours, sweating it out making backroom deals, went down the drain? Don't they care that such great minds as George Bush, Ted Kennedy, and John McCain, cooked up this comprehensive reform bill for their benefit? Weren't they paying attention to this bill, which authorized over $4 billion for border security, money that was just lying around unspent? There was also the promise to get tough on employer sanctions and other enforcement aspects, and a determination to build the rest of the 750 mile fence that hasn't been worked on much lately. Why wouldn't they believe us and trust us to do what is needed?
Just who the hell are these "We the People" anyway? |
